Lora Gill is an artist and librarian who lives in Bowling Green, Kentucky. During her time as a grad student at the University of Kentucky, she worked in the Special Collections Department of UK’s library, where she was exposed to some of the original plates of Audubon’s Birds of America. From here a deeper appreciation of the avian world combined with her desire to explore the nature of human femininity led her to create her Featherbrain series.

Lora is a self-taught artist who has been creating works for the past twenty years. She has been a part of two of Lexington’s public art projects, the Dynamic Doors and the Book Benches. Her bench is currently on display in front of the University Press of Kentucky. She has shown her artwork in various venues and is continuing to grow and expand her Featherbrain series. She works primarily with acrylics, but also enjoys illustration and mixed media.

The Artists’ Attic is a nonprofit organization established in 1988 that represents 43 local artists. Artists’ Attic provides professional studio and gallery space where artists create art, where visitors can connect with artists and collect local art. Artists' Attic is located on the 4th floor of The Square at 401 W. Main St., Lexington KY with the main entrance between Tony’s and Alumni Hall.

Artists’ Interviews and photos of works are available on request
