This exhibit came about as a celebration of drawing models from life. The artists participate at the University of Kentucky life drawing sessions. Drawing is the foundation of most artistic expression and the underlying structure of representational painting. Figures are one of the more difficult subjects to draw and great practice for artists. Anne and Cissy know each other from teaching art together at The Lexington School. They have drawn together for many years at the University of Kentucky Saturday morning life drawing sessions. They met Ree there who is a regular participant. The drawings in the exhibit represent poses from 1 minute to 30 minutes in length. Some drawings were completed at the Thursday night UK drawing session which uses one sustained pose for 2 hours. Anne’s abstract paintings and Cissy’s Jockey drawings are included in this exhibit.
